Easy materials to make a sculpture dough?
there kinds of "clays" can made @ home "sculpt" (and can paint if want, or can color before shaping well).
basic types clays based on grains (and flours) , based on cellulose (paper, etc). have kind of adhesive added permanent white glue, stick "okay" without added adhesive.
previous answerer gave info 1 type of homemade clay based on grains... "bread clay":

bread clay take detail, , takes detail better more common "salt dough" clays--which still pretty , used:

there clays based on cornstarch take lot of detail (and dry flexible) they're hard make (premixed versions available).
various other kinds of paper mash/pulp can used too, won't detail ones above.
also, other kinds of particulate matter can held glue or other adheisves) , used "clay" aren't suitable detailed pieces (like sand, etc.).
"air-dry" clays (polymer clays , modeling clays/plasticine aren't air-dry clays) must thoroughly sealed after drying though because humidity/water --and bugs if they're grain-based clays-- can in later , soften dried clay.
*permanent* paint, or clear finish, fine sealing... cheapest , used thinned-down white glue elmers glueall (or decoupage mediums modpodge/etc, same thing). clear polyurethanes (for sealing wood) "harder" though less susceptible later humidity or scratching when used sealers.
