Can international students apply for financial aid at U.S universities?

must 1 of following receive federal student aid:
* u.s. citizen
* u.s. national (includes natives of american samoa or swain’s island)
* u.s. permanent resident has i-151, i-551, or i-551c (permanent resident card)
if you’re not in 1 of these categories, must have arrival-departure record (i-94) u.s. citizenship , immigration services (uscis) showing 1 of following designations:
* "refugee"
* "asylum granted"
* "cuban-haitian entrant, status pending"
* "conditional entrant" (valid if issued before april 1, 1980)
* "victims of human trafficking, t-visa" (t-2, t-3, or t-4, etc.) holder
* "parolee" (you must paroled united states @ least 1 year , must able provide evidence uscis in united states other temporary purpose , intend become u.s. citizen or permanent resident.)

* if have notice of approval apply permanent residence (i-171 or i-464), aren’t eligible federal student aid.
* if you’re in united states on visas, including f1 or f2 student visa, or j1 or j2 exchange visitor visa, you’re not eligible federal student aid.
* also, persons g series visas (pertaining international organizations) not eligible.
