How important is photography when going to the dentist for you?

color rendition not accurate enough use photo exact guide lab shade matching. have take snap of stock shade guide next tooth in question , use reference. "the shade bit lighter c1 guide." when technician has photo in hand showing c1 guide , tooth in question, can tell how lighter is. here's sample of might send lab difficult color match:

have started using raw whibal card close can accurate color rendition.

photo helpful in showing variations , characterizations on tooth.

not helpful in showing translucent areas, flash washes them out. when bounce light off of surface, it's not easy see through surface.

use "a" intraoral photography. set aperture f/11 or f/16 , camera select 1/60 using flash anyhow.

send print copy lab case , send via e-mail can @ on monitor.

patient's point of view, think not matter, because not realize goes on behind scenes. when choose shade tooth, it's not same making match , telling lab pantone color is. there many colors within body of tooth , way 1 blends essential bit of description. picture worth @ least thousand words here.

on different wavelength, photography important patients because have decorated office 30 or 40 of own prints , hope makes place more cheerful , interesting. have spots swap out photos time-to-time , people notice, guess appreciate looking at.
