disadvantages: income in hospitality industries lopsided towards low-wage end. companies provide hospitality foreign companies, profits drained away host. tourism tends monopolize economies, making them more vulnerable. industry vulnerable economic crises & natural disasters. tourism presents opportunity special ecological problems - habitat destruction, overuse of resources, general disruptions. tourism can dilute cultural traditions , cause conflicts between competing interests. tourism can promote illicit industries, either products tourists or because rely on ease of travel intended tourists.
