How come so many new airplanes nowaday are made out of composite materials?

objective make aircraft lighter without sacrificing necessary structural strength. lighter aircraft can carry more payload less fuel.

problem properties of composite materials not understood of more traditional materials, there problems , accidents until understanding improves. 1 of main factors holding more widespread use of composites, although greed applying strong pressure in favor.

why aircraft makers deviate old aircraft aluminium , wooden fabric materials. if wheel isn't broken why fix ?
