New to acting, and Theater arts is my major?
greatest advice make sure right place you. know half-way through sentence, though, "psh! yes! theatre belong!" hear me out. i've seen many kids in many shows, middle school college dedicated becoming actor. (i'm senior in high school). in fact, finished large musical production @ local college lot of kids involved theatre majors, , first show! i've struggled understand how can major in don't know.
not mean condescending or theatre isn't right place - may belong! there no way can know yet. may dedicated becoming actor, in order succeed or able enjoy or make our of major, need dedicated art. theatre not kind of stepping stone becoming actor, theatre art bigger that. involves more on actor's part public takes granted, not 1 expect, , can't appreciate until try out. outside of acting there many more components theatrical sphere, acting makes minute little bit of it!
personal belief before go ahead , declare major, 1 should make sure theatre (not acting) right fit them taking classes, studying privately, , importantly participating in performance productions. there many opportunities this, @ colleges, should take advantage of. if have declared, jsut suggest keep open mind. means making sure perspective flexible, because trust me, entire perception of theatre is going change that! also, means make sure open sources of experience. listen instructors, take many classes possible, , open information you're going bombarded concerning acting , art of theatre.
in 2 months then, ask if enjoy going classes. if find having drag yoruself go, or still don't getting in front of class perform, or don't believe in actor, theatre not place you. , that's okay! should go enjoy, , can succeed at, not think make become celebrity.
hello everyone, new acting , such, never done acting, theater , arts going major, because loved watching people act. advice on acting , such? i'm afraid won't stand out as other students. , yes dedicated towards becoming actor.
