Moving to Chicago & I know nothing about this area and could really use some info. Thanks for your help.?

consider oak park, diverse, near-western suburb of chicago. oak park & river forest high school (http://www.oprfhs.org ) cranks out merit scholars, believe. either way, oak park or river forest great suburbs live in. located less 20 minutes chicago. see http://www.oak-park.us/ more oak park, il.

other areas riverside or brookfield. it's west, more south oak park, in relation city. see http://www.rbhs.w-cook.k12.il.us/ . think riverside might better town live in brookfield, i'm not sure. also, both situated not far chicago (20 30 minutes).

other suburbs consider evanston (northwestern university), dekalb (northern il university), la grange park, elmhurst, , lombard.

update: note naperville, wheaton, , etc. - while towns have excellent school systems - commute chicago long. basic commute of 1 hour can turn longer, if there's type of traffic problem, happens often.

we may moving chicago, don't want live in city. need excellent high school, not long commute city, , not far college campus. willing consider indiana.
