Can one return back any recalled Toyota 2010......?

hypothetical question, let's assume if authorities found out eg in may 2009 have kind of memo or e-mail stating gonna recall many models while selling customers w/o explaining there accelerator issue. toyota have buy cars sold since may? lemon law apply in case since selling cars customers without telling accelerator issue etc? (personally think did not decide in 1 day recall millions of vehicle. must have known , debated recall issue @ least 2-3 months, waited till end of year)
