Is $8,000 a good price for a 2002 Subaru Outback limited sedan?

have 1997 outback limited wagon. bought new , has 142,000 miles on odometer. should able sell close $5,000. price you're being quoted 2002 outback limited sedan good. looks can deceiving.

if buying car (which not sale.), you'd see of maintenance records on vehicle: oil changes, periodic major maintenance records, , repairs (though few in number). sedan come "full documentation?"

if records incomplete, if there , pattern of care evident, consider car. no paper @ all? walk away. best car, shined , kept sparkling on years may ruined poor maintenance, no maintenance, use of inferior products, etc.

if decide car's records adequate, standard things. examine car's body evidence of accident repair. check car fax (but don't count on alone). drive car paying careful attention steering, brakes, etc,, including @ speed. if think want buy car, pre purchase inspection subaru mechanic not @ place you're buying car from.

know condition of tires, brakes, hoses, belts, battery, etc. before entering final price negotiations. if you've going spend hundreds or thousands of dollars bring pretty car worn out parts snuff, use knowledge lower price.

subarus great cars stand test of time if maintained. outback sedan unusual subaru (made few years only). might holding price down.

it's in perfect condition both inside , out, if car brand new. has 110,000 miles , has available options such power leather seats, moonroof, alarm, etc... subarus cars hondas , there common problems these models? thank you
