How to get your foot in the door in the world of advertising?

in third , final year @ university , studying media , cultural studies joint digital culture, arts , media. course involves aspects of public relations, youth studies, advertising, research methods, computer animation, web design , digital imaging. have wanted job in advertising have no idea how foot in door! dream job guy comes ideas advertisements , pitching boardroom... actual job role or part of larger role? although study designing im not best artistically, whilst ideas great drawing skills etc not great.i have around 6 months left @ university , willing take part in work experience if know anywhere this. appreciated thanks.
