Lowering the draft of a Boat??
no chart... there way...
first have know actual weight of boat, plus attached gear, , motor, plus fuel. (most of build boats, make our formula based on full fuel tanks, , both waste, gray , fresh water holding tanks, batteries, etc. (all normal stuff on boat when using it). once have vessel's weight. must determine cubic feet of hull below actual water line.
so, measure actual water line bottom of boat... measure boat's hull length , width @ water line. now, sheet of drafting paper little tiny blue squares... can use regular blank paper have draw in after complete following:
draw perfect rectangle using dimensions of width , depth see if looking @ stern of vessel... mark dimensions. if using "squared paper, want each square equal 1 foot. (or depending on size of vessel work out scale works best , drawing).
draw in (best can) shape of hull... now... shade out little squares , half squares fall outside boat's hull - don't need them more...
count squares on inside (including half , quarter squares) add them nearest whole number..
take number of squares x length of vessel... number gives cubic feet of hull @ water line.
each cubic foot of fresh water weighs 62 pounds. therefore each cubic foot of air in hull, floats 62 pounds... if multiply number of cubic feet times times 144 have number of cubic inches. if take total amount of weight of boat , divide total number of square inches - result amount of weight takes sink boat 1 inch in water...
welcome!
luck,
happy & safe boating,
john
ps. more precise are, more exact be... believe me, don't have worry that, because close, amaze yourself... guarantee...
is there sort of chart uses length , beam of boat determine how weight lowers draft of said boat measurement?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
