timing belts need replaced 60k miles. if timing belt breaks can cause serious damage engine. if drive car , havent gotten in bad wrecks there isnt point replace until 60k. if want check belt/chain can on internet specific car. on left side of engine if engine transversal or front of on forward facing. under cover protect , need remove that. check tears or abbrasions. turn on car , listen whistling or whaling coming belt.
