Do Movie Theaters flash Subliminal Messages and "stuff" before previews?

in mid - late 1900s, movie tapes in movie theaters used have picture of popcorn or similar 1 one of pictures in tape roll. since pictures going fast, naked eye couldn't see pictures, brain, being awesome is, could. picture caused brain think hungry therefore causing innocent movie watcher , buy popcorn.

once discovered, things made illegal, since causing person had no control over. no, in answer question, no longer happens in movie theaters.

like ad or promoting sales maybe? friend sees time before previews , wondering if may case?
