I'm going to be moving to Cleveland soon for work. Whats the best suburb in the area to move to?
single or married? have family? want buy or rent? want house or apartment? how want spend per month? when limit commute 30 minutes, talking driving or using mass transportation? have parking @ coast guard station?
generally, cleveland area housing affordable relative other major metropolitan areas. 30-minute commute limit reduce options, depending upon whether plan drive or use mass transportation, still have excellent options imo.
first thing imo aaa "northeastern ohio" map. useful cleveland area map of i'm aware, , has excellent cleveland map on reverse side. find more detailed cleveland map useful.
coast guard station located fast auto commute east side due route 2 "shoreway," cautious using nearby large public parking lot based on recent news reports (the city reportedly isn't patrolling , there have been break-ins).
if don't have kids, euclid has excellent housing values, partially due deteriorating schools. city lakefront location, excellent parks, great freeway access, library, , reasonable mass transit connections downtown.
30-minute commute limit, @ willowick, eastlake, , perhaps mentor or willoughby in lake county if you're going commute auto. lake county has own transportation authority bus connections downtown, large park-n-ride @ classic park transit center in eastlake. ride public square , take either downtown bus trolley (which free) or waterfront rapid close coast guard station.
<<[laketran] commuters going university circle or other cleveland destinations may transfer once laketran commuter bus gcrta’s new healthline, or rapid lines @ tower city.>>

however, suspect mass transportation commute might take 45 minutes due connections, etc.
if don't have kids, there surprisingly affordable housing downtown @ east 4th street , possibly in warehouse district. coventry area of cleveland heights, bratenahl (especially convenient auto commute coast guard station, strictly residential community), , tremont offer interesting choices if kids not in picture.
lakewood, less 10 miles coast guard station, offers best of worlds if want limit commute 30 minutes, if have kids. lakewood has regarded public school system.
wikipedia offers profiles northeast ohio cities.

rocky river (ranked fifth best cleveland suburb cleveland magazine in 2009) , fairview park west communities within 30-minute travel guideline auto. however, auto commutes coast guard station imo more difficult west , southwest, due cleveland's freeway structure , greater congestion in directions.
shaker heights might worth looking at, if want use mass transportation, connected downtown excellent "rapid" rail service. there waterfront connecting rail line drop off block coast guard station.
highland heights might half-hour commute (depending upon traffic , weather) auto coast guard station, , it's been ranked top 100 place live in u.s. money magazine.
