How does a printer work?

old typewriters , many old printers did use letter shapes on ends of arms or on bands struck paper create text. todays printers more versatile in can create shape, letter , image, depending on printer, want.

basic principle behind todays printers create small dots along lines (all 300 dots per inch , higher) create variety of characters, pictures, etc., create variety of images want joining , interleaving dots. sums up.

how can print every detail of want printed? pictures, created art off of photoshop..

know how old printers/typewriters had little stamps "printed" words onto paper... how todays printers work compared that?
