if god supposedly jesus's biological father, why genealogy of jesus's ancestors in matthew1 , luke3 (the bible chapters show jesus's genealogy) trace jesus's linage through joseph, instead of through mary?

if mary virgin when gave birth jesus, joseph's ancestors wouldn't jesus's ancestors, yet genealogy written if were.
