What were the effects of British rule over India?

colonialism one-sided deal. used think india should thankful british rule, realized embargoed struggling villages , imposed heavy taxes , difficult them recover. india have been better off , britain have lost less troops, hard occupy nation , gather enough men.

i've heard british 'developed' india, i've heard plundered it.

india could've been better without british coming in. would've not been industrialized?
