Am I being selfish towards my family?

hi,

have major interest in performing arts (i'm in high school). plan on majoring in film, production, theatre, or direction in college--and excel in studies.

see, family might relocate california dc--and love idea of living in dc, family well. problem mom doesn't want me or twin sister in public school--for 2 reasons. 1. we've had trouble public schools before...2. public schools there....yeah, not good.

leaves charter or private. looked @ of charter's there; , decent. . . problem being 98% black, 2% mexican. family isn't racist have slight feeling awkward.

private schools there interest me. there quite number of private schools arts programs, , think i'd fit right in. (i told mom i'm open going girls school) that's great , everything....but there's tuition goes $32,000 year! can go college free in pennsylvania because parents both military, suppose spending in college tuition spending in high school...but still.

there's aid that's available , on full scholarship go schools want go to; sister refuses go private school. mom says if applied , got in on scholarship, she'd let me go....but being selfish?
