usa theatre 1900s-200s

1890ish-1920s ish = height of vaudeville, melodrama fades
1935-39: federal theatre project
1930s-50s: height of movie musicals
1960-70s: start of rock operas (hair, tommy, jesus christ superstar) also, off off braodway hot spots cafe cino , cafe lamama etc came about.
1990s-present: juke box musicals ( mama mia, moving out, rock you)
2000s - present: disney musicals (beauty , beast, little mermaid, lion king)
late 2000s - resurgence of movie musicals
