Pregnant and painting?
re: i’ve heard pregnant women shouldn't paint. true? there else need know while i’m working on nursery?
exact dangers of painting aren’t known, it’s safest let else handle job. every type of paint has chemicals, , though it’s tough measure how absorbed while painting (and resulting effects), exposure inevitable. there evidence linking high solvent exposure birth defects , miscarriage. exposure while painting less significant, again, it’s best let partner take care of it. if you’ve had exposure, though, don’t worry much. chances are, baby fine. if reason absolutely must paint, limit time spend around chemicals, keep windows open, wear long pants , sleeves, gloves, , screen or mask, don’t eat or drink while working, , use water-based paints (which have less solvents oil-based paints).
take special caution if house built or decorated before lead paint banned in 1978. if have slightest suspicion lead paint used, let professional scraping , removing, , leave house while work. inhaling dust can harmful both , baby.
also, start working on nursery possible. climbing ladders, carrying linens , setting furniture easier , safer right now, when balance, flexibility , energy levels still (relatively) high.
can harm unborn child if paint water based paint inside , cannot leave windows open long (because of cold weather)
isnt water based paint considered safe?
