Why was the training aircraft called the 'vomit comet'?....?

"vomit comet" modified de havilland comet aircraft, hence "comet" part, , because of weightlessness, many people became sick , vomited while on it, hence "vomit" part.

1.why astronauts feel weightless when in orbit?
