Limits to commuting to and from uni?

in unfortunate situation basically, right on edge of student finance boudary, don't enough of loan move out parents adament can't fill in rest. live in sheffield , rent in student digs in sheffield in opinion pretty expensive. move out of course , presume find job if don't find job (economy ruined after all) i'll overdrafts , sorts , want avoid @ costs.

didn't uni year (i slipped grade 5 marks , lost insurance), know application process pretty inside out, advantage year is, know works me , doesn't.

problem trying find out universities near me or within commuting distance heard friend universities have limits on distance student can uni campus. means if true fall distance of , not in others need know if knows if limit true , how of limit is.
