How does a work of art speak?

let assume art imply in question painting example, way "speak" firstly composition , subject matter. in other words painting , going on in painting artist wants tell about, secondly how artist convey viewer sense of mood , expression , relevence there in style of brushwork artist uses. next can examine choice of colour used , @ dynamics of form , shapes used in painting. if feel "drawn" looking @ painting longer otherwise because painting has empowered you, has captured curiosity , imagination. these ways artwork can speak us, there unspoken language within painting , degree interpret differently.
