Why is the movie Kite Runner playing in only selected theatres?

if theatre has choice between foreign, independant or controversial film , typical hollywood blockbuster explosions , half-naked women, well, more choose? whatever makes money, of course - junk hollywood. it's sad, , frustrating if there's film out can't see because of local theatre chooses play. i've heard depending on live can request movie shown @ local theatre, , may heed request. if not, have no choice wait dvd.:(

meanwhile of junk staring hollywood "stars" in every theatre.
