first statement tells acceleration

a=change in speed/time = 12m/s/5s=2.4 m/s/s

recall distance traveled accelerating object starts rest

dist = 1/2 t^2

since object accelerates @ 2.4m/s/s, take 25m/s / 2.4m/s/s = 1.04 s reach 25m/s

object travel:

dist = 1/2 (2.4m/s/s)(1.04s)^2 = 130m

a light aircraft starts rest , accelerates steadily down runway. after 5s speed 12m/s. how total runway need in order reach takeoff speed of 25m/s?

can please explain steps getting answer question well?
