What modern aircraft comes the closest to the C-46?

4 engine c-130 hercules or twin engine c-27 spartan.

both of them cargo or infantry transport aircraft , believe c-130 hercules has gunship variant .

it doesn't have tail dragger. i'm looking see if there modern equivalent capabilities of c-46. cargo capacity, beefiness, strength, payload, cold weather operations, etc. or maybe aircraft same size can these things better? curious. thanks.
