To Toyota or not Toyota?

know i'm in wrong category nobody answering on in cars , know married people smart :))

here situation:

have 2003 audi a4 1.8 t quattro- owe 7500 on (about as books for)
has 89k miles on it, turbo went out , started leaking oil. mechanic said (minus leak) turbo cost 1500 replace. not first time car has given grief.

i'm thinking trading in 2004 toyota 4runner limited v8 95k miles on it- they're asking 16 it.

so, let me explain- we've had lot of mechanical issues car , we're afraid it's going cost lot repair. toyotas notorious reliability , 4runner seems better bet around. problem decision financial (taking out another, larger loan car has more miles , 1 year newer. also, @ least car- know i've got. new vehicle purchase, it's gamble. guess it's gamble either way.

trade in (or sell pp) car , go runner or stick car, pay off , drive till dies????
