Is their a difference between the sumatran water monitor and the asian water monitor?

"sumatrans" (varanus salvator macromaculatus) subspecies island of sumatra. known south asian water monitor. "asians" ( varanus salvator salvator) nominal species , indonesia. real difference keeping them in captivity fact "sumatrans" tad larger on average. huge lizard!

p.s. considered same species until 2007

i bought water monitor @ sacremento reptile show , told me asian water monitor , sumatran water monitors same exact species ..... i can not find info on comparison .....please send link or something
