Are Art Students Usually Very Talented Before Art School?

highschool junior in small town in iowa, , i'm interested in studying art (whether art studio, education, or history.) think have ideas , interesting style, don't know how paint (i've taken many ap classes, have been able take general art.)

have recieved booklet mcad, , looked @ book noticed works made talented artists. kind of made me bad, have future in art? i'm afraid won't able art school because i'm not talented enough.

how compare other highschool students prospective art students?
i'm thinking going state university maybe 2 years , go art school?
