in addition 3.3l engine, 2004 v6-powered models equipped new 5-speed automatic transmission, replacing 4-speed automatic transmission, while 4-cylinder models continue use old 4-speed automatic transmission. year saw introduction of optional third row seat. unibody modified behind second row seats include depression on trunk floor accommodate optional third row seating. on models without third row seating, depression on trunk floor turned storage compartment. (prior 2004 spare tire accessible inside vehicle third row seating subsequently located; beginning in 2004 spare tire accessible underneath vehicle.)
