Does the real d 3d glasses only work in theaters?

glasses use polarized light 3d effect. have 2 complete 2d movies, 1 left eye , 1 right eye. movie left eye projected onto screen counter clockwise polarized light waves, , right eye movie projected clockwise polarized light waves. each lens on glasses lets 1 light wave through , blocks other light wave. problem tv or monitor not made put out 2 different light waves. have polarized 3d tv's, numbered horizontal lines have 1 light wave, , other horizontal lines in between have other light wave, tv or monitor must made this, if not can not use glasses form theater.

is possible use 3d glasses theaters else in 3d except red , blue images?
