boyfriend had name changed upon receiving american citizenship , told me chinese/birth name had literally meant "horizontal vessel" or, less literally, "steady boat" did not tell me actual name. if include pinyin and/or phonetic pronunciation, i'd appreciate it. also, if helps, did character(s) name ridiculously hard write out, well-acquainted mandarin.
