Could I get some directions on majoring in music?

senior in high school has played cello 2 years. able play scales, first movement of brahm's cello sonata in e minor, , working on saint saen's allegro appassionato. have been taking private lessons @ colburn school of performing arts in downtown los angeles, california year cello professor (when first started, @ suzuki book 4). have never gotten participate in music festivals, camps, , less, competitions family barely getting private lessons. inspired major in music, @ point, unaware of can within power come closer goal other practicing. going stay @ local community college 2 years after graduation , transfer.

because not getting true encouragement , support parents (they not think have successful career in music if major in it, still want me play cello), rather lost can within these coming 2 years advance towards goal. type of scholarships should looking for? how can boost chances of being accepted music schools (other practicing)? have/am/always musically inspired, , thankful advice or references different websites offer me additional information. thank in advance!
