Can Visual Communications/Web Design be under the major "ART"?

if know school going to, find out department courses in. have design art major, others have under communications media. have either, depending on direction want go it.

my scholarship asking me major...but things see related visual communications/web design "art", & "communications" dont think communications means doing....and there option other major not listed...but art general...help
