What does deconstruction mean in art?

if term reverse engineering,i literally taking piece of art apart element element, section section. using tracing paper, capture each element of movement, colors, shapes , lines. once had these point combine them recreate piece, have arrived @ point of deconstruction. of course easier photoshop wanted break process down in more traditional way show work. vts amazing methodology spans not age groups types of art , mediums.

i have art final exam in few weeks , i'm wondering
mean deconstruct in art, whether it's painting, drawing, etc..
