How do I draw proportional anime characters and more interesting poses?

guy wants me draw him ^_^ want impress him. can draw anime eyes, hair, etc. i'm not amazing, i'm pretty decent @ drawing. reason head, body, , limbs never in proportion. there way can fix this? also, draw simple forward-facing characters. it's getting boring, , want able draw anime in variety of poses. how can draw better poses or website shows interesting poses? in advance :d
