need call dmv ask on how import car usa. need permit bring car us, pay duty tax, pay customs tax, pay state tax convert car dashboard system metric imperial units. need car tested emissions in quebec first see if current (and convert translations of french english) , if matches californian standards. once in usa, need tested californian standards again! approved standard can new set of california plates. may drive around on quebec plates 3 months, after need convert on plates. need show proof of sale, , proof of import duties paid, customs tax , state tax paid etc.

there transport costs, plus agent process paperwork...

ps - i've brought car canada , wouldn't recommend anyone. there red tape! cost of importing car san diego vancouver alone cost me on $1000 without other taxes, , duties. since montreal further away, i'd might looking @ on $3k bring through. might best go montreal , drive car across california! (but still need pay taxes otherwise you'd never proper plates or insurance)
