Why is macbeth a peice of art?
nice, doc!! perfect reference, kurosawa's awesome film super scary http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050613/
why macbeth piece of art? question worthy of play that's been in performance little less 500 years. it's wonder every day: makes aeschylus or shakespeare create these stories , plays consider "classic" or "art" or whatever. how survive these hundreds of years?
think doc pretty gave solid answer hope for. if people on world can find reasons re-visit play again , again, it's art, it's not "normal horror story." there multitude of ways macbeth different modern or classic horror story.
why/how? let's begin it's age. play first performed in 1605 or 1606 ( http://www.william-shakespeare.info/shakespeare-play-macbeth.htm )
saw or friday 13th or shining? no, macbeth different pure , simple fact, none of these "horror stories" have been around 100 years. sure, seeing these "classic" horror stories being remade or serialized not breadth , scope afforded centuries of study , re-invention. thus, answer simple: it's gets art because it's older , been around longer. indulgent answer is: because it's cool.
quick side-note: 1 production of macbeth, maybe two, , scary , have seen dozens of productions. asking question because you've seen bad production of (i sorry)? or being forced read in english class?
