that's broad subject, ranging scholastic philosophies of duns scotus , thomas aquinas modern philosophies of teilhard de chardin , karl rahner. suppose @ basic, practical catholic philosophy says physical world real, although not full extent of reality. reality comprehensible human mind, through observation , logic. rene descartes famous line of reasoning basic "i doubt, therefore exist," reliability of human senses, , existence of benevolent god. subsequent philosophers have taken argument apart, catholics, agree there moral direction world, , our benevolence , compassion toward our fellow humans, particularly least able themselves, existentially important.
