Why were most people in Greek art featured nude?

because, lot of time, greeks nude. athletes trained, studies, , competed way, battles fought way, worked way when made sense to, , bathed way. celebrated human form, while our culture seems somehow ashamed of it. word gymnasium word "gymnos" meaning "naked". gymnasium literally "naked place".

like sculptures , such. why did artists make subjects nude instead of clothed?
