Help! What to do after putting new paint over high gloss paint?

idiot , did not check see if paint painting on gloss or not. looks pretty darn flat, painting wall, noticed paint peel , rip off in chunks if tried run roller on second time. of course, instead of stopping, painted entire room. half paint took, , looks terrible. should try paint second coat of new paint on top , hope sticks, or should clean wall mineral spirits, sand it, prime it, , start over? disappointed because bought highest quality paint , hate waste half gallon.
