How does the subaru wrx handbrake work?

there no advantage @ all. if anything, guy begging rear ended because when use parking brake, brake lights not turn on. if doing that, he's slowing down car w/o giving people behind him warning @ all. said turbo has nothing it, , i'm @ loss why this.

should ask him if he's trying rear ended because extremely dangerous

i in subaru wrx , guy driving used handbrake stop car ? used normal brakes barely ever? why that? whats wrong using normal brakes? dont understand it? because of turbo?
