Why are some magnets stronger than others?
well, first need know how magnets work in first place.
magnet has many "domains". each domain tiny little compass. , each of compasses create tiny magnetic field. when these domains added up, large magnetic field.
adding up, domains have pointed in same direction. if they're not, have random pointing domain set reduces strength of magnet because tiny magnetic fields in different directions, , fields cancel each other out. if can align domains in 1 particular direction, you'll have stronger magnet.
how do that? simple. external magnetic source. use coil induce magnetic field in steel piece. obviously, then, there maximum can go in terms of magnetic strength given piece of steel. because number of domains not infinite.
why magnets stronger others?
