College history courses?

generally, history classes, higher level, more narrow focus.

freshman class might survey of american history civil war present (1865-2010).
junior class might great depression, 1929-1941.
senior level class might focus on politics , culture in cold war (1945-1975)
graduate level class focus on religion in britain 1785-1925.

i'm looking on ku's web site (u. of kansas), , have history 424: venice , florence in renaissance.

im interested in taking few history classes in college. im interested in italian renaissance , time. colleges offer courses on this? or have american or european classes available?
