Tricks and ideas to help study history?

make flash cards, helps me separate out large groups of facts smaller bits. read through notes, study flash cards. on front of card write name of person, event, place, etc, , date(s) below it. write main facts on back. go through these few times, set aside ones have hard time remembering , spend time reading through information on back. contrary answer above not being smart, learning history @ undergraduate level pretty straight memorization.

it's hard me learn / study history... help
