General advice for commuting student?

have commute university, , takes 4 hours of day (2 hours going , coming back), spend them standing on crowded buses , subways. finish @ 5, , time 7, , tired study day's material , end sleeping , trying cram assignments in between lessons on next day... wondering, else have deal long commute?? have tips me? or way me stay awake @ after coming back? appreciate advice
