1 interesting thing note these women except mary looked upon less jewish culture. tamar tricked judah, pretending prostitute, sleeping conceive after had failed give son husband supposed to. rahab foreign prostitute in jericho hid israelite spies. faithfulness hide them saved destruction , converted. ruth moabite, whom israelites considered cursed, married israel after converting. bathsheba mistress of king david. had husband killed cover affair.

seems plausible these women included in genealogy way of affirming them. possibility included show jesus came human, normal, screwed-up lineage.
