I am interested in Photography but have no knowledge about it. Any pointers for beginners?

photography can addictive hobby. you're warned, here few tips - , websites check out below.

1) digital camera. digital camera fine start with. if can afford slr (as opposed compact or "point-and-shoot" camera), you'll better off in long run. whichever camera get, don't overwhelmed menus , settings. you'll learn in time. start with, leave in automatic or program mode. beware of blogs participants discuss technical details of cameras if important thing. it's not.

2) educate yourself. want learn @ stage not how work camera, how create photo. things composition, quality of light, , how tell story photo can learned camera. of course, there technical issues deal such getting correct exposure , focusing. take lot of photos , prepared delete lot of them. pros that. @ first won't judge of own work, time you'll better @ that.

3) education (part 2). enroll in photo class @ local community college or similar. if can afford it, new york institute of photography (nyip.com) has excellent online photo course.

4) join photo club. on web these days, google search ought find 1 in area. although of listings old, place start big list of photo clubs (link below). can check out club in san diego: polyphotoclub.com too.

5) few sources of information. outdoor photographer magazine beginners. blogs , photography forums online not place start. many of them fragmented you'll have hard time learning anything. you'd better off in-person classes or books can find books free @ local library. technical details discussed in older books don't apply anymore (such how develop film , sort of thing), discussion of artistic side of photography still valid.
