I had a house in Canada before moving to US in 2008. I have been denied the tax credit?

bought first house in last winter , went through every hassle trying take advantage of tax credit. took forclosed house , took line of credit fix hoping credit pay back. after 6 months of delay, irs has denied due house in canada. turned out software automatically flags home owner if have claimed in tax did in 2007 , 2008 working in states , paying taxes in both , canada. suggest do?
