What is the difference between a Volkswagen Jetta and a Volkswagen Jetta GLS?
depends upon year; realize must talking older model, new models have "s", "se" etc designations 2010...in general, (if sold in us) base or gl models, had little or no power accessory equipment, i.e., power windows, cruise control, power seats, sunroof, had steel wheels (instead of alloys) etc. later models had power locks standard on base or gl models (late 90's models), otherwise had no power equipment available, option. if model old enough, power steering, has been standard more 12 years or so, unavailable on base or gl models.
of changes if you're talking model older 1999; in years, gl model mid level model , base model jetta. air conditioning didn't became standard on jettas until 1995, prior optional equipment. audio features in base ranged radio, am/fm radio, am/fm cassette radio depending upon year. late 2003, base jetta still had am/fm cassette unit, gls models had cassette/cd player.
interior trim varied year year; in general base models didn't have centre console/arm rest/storage compartment. engines choices smallest engine available, while in years, gls had many 4 engine choices: standard gas 4 cylinder, 4 cylinder diesel, 4 cylinder gas turbo, 6 cylinder vr6 motor... (at least in us)
hope helps, car nut.
i'm car shopping , curious difference.
